How do I take Perjeta (pertuzumab)?
The standard dose is:
- Starting dose: 840 mg as a 60-minute intravenous infusion
- The following infusions were administered: 420 mg every 3 weeks as a 30- to 60-minute intravenous infusion.
Patients with metastatic breast cancer should be treated with pertuzumab and trastuzumab until the disease progresses or unmanageable toxicity occurs.
Patients undergoing neoadjuvant treatment for breast cancer should receive pertuzumab every 3 weeks for 3 to 6 cycles prior to surgery.

Common side effects of Perjeta (pertuzumab)
The most common side effects of Perjeta in combination with trastuzumab and chemotherapy are:
- Diarrhea
- Alopecia (hair loss)
- Nausea
- Neutropenia (low number of neutrophils, a type of white blood cell that is important for fighting infections).
Serious side effects of Perjeta (pertuzumab)
The most common serious side effects include:
- Febrile neutropenia (low neutrophil counts with fever)

- Leukopenia (low white blood cell count)
- Neutropenia.
